Andy Wood

President/ Owner/ Funeral Service Licensee

Andy has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1986. He has been with Butler Funeral Home since 1992 and co-owner 2000-2021. In December of 2021 he became sole owner. Andy graduated from The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1986. He is also a part-time United Methodist Minister at Mount Moriah and McGee Churches of Clinton. He is a member of the Roseboro Masonic Lodge #585, the Wilmington Scottish Rite, The Fayetteville York Rite and the Sudan Shriners. Andy and his wife Sheila and sons, Brandon and Jonathan live in Autryville.

Sheila Wood

Business Office Manager, Secretary/ Treasurer

Sheila retired from Sampson County Schools in 2023. Sheila is married to Andy Wood and the mother of Brandon and Jonathan Wood. She is a member at Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church. Sheila is currently serving her apprenticeship.

Brandon Wood

Funeral Service Licensee

Brandon graduated May 2019 with an Associate Degree in Funeral Service from Fayetteville Technical Community College. Brandon is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. Brandon is the son of Andy and Shelia Wood.

Jonathan Wood

Funeral Service Licensee/ Life Insurance Agent/ and Preneed Counselor

Jonathan is a 2018 graduate of Midway High School, and a 2022 Graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance. He graduated from Fayetteville Technical Community College in Funeral Directing in 2023. He is the son of Andy and Sheila Wood, and brother to Brandon Wood.

Tracy S. Cook

Manager of Stedman Office/ Funeral Service Licensee

Tracy has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since July 2002. She has been with Butler Funeral Home since June 2014. She graduated from mortuary school at Fayetteville Technical Community College. She and her husband, Jimmy reside in Stedman and attend Praise Fellowship Church of God in Fayetteville.

Judith Warren

Preneed Counselor/ Funeral Director Licensee/ Licensed Insurance Agent

Judith has been a licensed funeral director since 2003. She is also a licensed insurance agent and certified preneed counselor. She has over 26 years experience in the life insurance business. A native of Sampson County, Judith graduated from Midway High School. She is a graduate of Wayne Community College and Fayetteville Technical Community College. She lives in Clinton and was married to the late Morris Tyndall. She has two children, Phil and Leigh Ann. She is a member of Mary´s Chapel Baptist Church of Clinton.

Sandie has been with Butler Funeral Home since April 2015. She lives in Salemburg and is a member of Salemburg Volunteer Fire Department. She has one daughter, Samantha M. Holland.

Office/ Funeral Assistant

Morgan graduated from Lakewood High School in 2019. She graduated from Fayetteville Technical Community College, majoring in Funeral Services in 2023. She lives in Autryville and is the daughter of Robert and Amanda Tanner. She is a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church of Roseboro. She has been with Butler Funeral Home since January 2020.

Jimmy is a funeral assistant and has been with Butler Funeral Home since June 2014. He and his wife Tracy live in Stedman and attend Praise Fellowship Church of God in Fayetteville.

Bryan N. Strickland

Office/ Funeral Assistant/ Minister

Bryan has been with Butler Funeral Home since November 2004. He is a native of Sampson County and a 2006 graduate of Midway High School in Dunn. He and his wife Brooke live in Autryville and have two sons, Bentley and Brody. Bryan is the Pastor of Mount Carmel Church of God of Prophecy.

Residing in Stedman, Ashley, daughter of Anna and Darick Williams, graduated from Midway High School in 2023. She is now furthering her education at Fayetteville Technical Community College, where she is enrolled in the Funeral Service program.

James Bullard

Funeral Service Licensee

James has been with our firm since 2005. He became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in 2007. James is also Department Chair of the Funeral Service Education Program at Fayetteville Technical Community College. He is a native of the Stedman Community and lives there today with his wife Patty and their two children, Connor and Joseph. James is a member of Concord Baptist Church of Autryville where he serves as a deacon. He is a member of the Stedman Volunteer Fire Department. In his spare time he enjoys beekeeping.

Robie Butler

Retired Funeral Director

Robie retired December of 2021. Robie has been a licensed funeral director since July, 2002. The son of Murray H. Butler and grandson of George "Willie" Butler, he represents the third generation of his family to operate Butler Funeral Home. He was born and raised in Roseboro and graduated from, what was then, Roseboro-Salemburg High School. Robie graduated from North Carolina State University and mortuary school at Fayetteville Technical Community College. He and his wife Linda live in Eastover.

Robert Wayne Tanner, Jr.

Funeral Assistant

Robert was a funeral assistant. He and his wife Amanda lived in Autryville and they have three children, Elijah Jacobs, Morgan and Trey Tanner. Robert was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church of Roseboro.
