William "Street" Hill

Mr. William “Street” Hill, 93 went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Mary Gran Nursing Center in Clinton.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 4, 2023 at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg with the Reverend Phil Bowden officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM on Monday, September 4, 2023 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.

Mr. Hill was a native of Sampson County, the son of Claude Denson and Lula Frances Faircloth Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Myrtise Hill; and eight brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Hill was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed working as a carpenter, building homes around Salemburg and the beach. Mr. Hill retired after 43 years from the Veteran Affairs Medical Center.

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Cathy Parnell and husband, Joey of Greensboro; and Cindy McLamb of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Michael Parnell (Chrystal); Erin Bass (Donnie); and Abby Johnson (Chris); and five great-grandchildren. He was also survived by four step-children, Shirley Honeycutt (Bennett) of Salemburg; Tammy Thornton (Drew) of Clinton; Kay Stafford (Kenny); and Fay Bowden (Phil); eight step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Mary Gran Nursing Center for the outstanding care provided to Mr. Hill. He really enjoyed the activities and fellowship at the nursing home.
