William Jennings Roberts
To some he was Bill and to others he was Jennings. He was one of five children. He graduated from NC State University in Raleigh, served with the US Army in Korea, and was a farm agent before becoming a full time farmer. He planted gardens and shared tomatoes, turnips, corn, squash, peas, okra, cucumbers etc-in the church community.
He married Marilyn Dunn and they had two sons Will and Stewart. He served Roseboro First Baptist Church as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, helped mow the grass, helped with church meals, and sang in the choir as long as he was able.
He was a true gentleman, The Lord called him home on March 16, 2024.
He is survived by nephews, Jim, Charles, Mike, John, Joe, and Bob Roberts and a niece, Lisa Green. Caregivers John & Ann Benson, Kate Benson, Lowell West, and Mildred White cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Dunn Roberts and his two sons Will and Stewart Roberts.
A memorial service will be held at Roseboro First Baptist Church on April 11th 2024 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 1:50 PM at the church.
