CLINTON, NC

Mrs. Virginia Rose Clark Smith, 77 of 180 Southwood Drive, Clinton and formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Rex Healthcare.

The funeral service will be held at 2:30pm Sunday, September 30, at Briar Branch Baptist Church, 42 Lula Long Road, Elizabethtown, with Reverend Carlton Bryan and Reverend Barry Helms officiating. Burial will follow at Old Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 4100 Old Bluff Church Road, Godwin.

Born July 31, 1941 in New Hanover County, she was the daughter of Edward Paul and Lillie Beard Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Lacy Farril Smith, Sr. She worked as a floral designer.

She is survived by her son, Lacy Farril Smith, Jr. (Ann) of Garland; three daughters, Phyllis Smith of Bladenboro, Jane Smith Hall (Woody) of Roseboro, Teresa Smith (Floyd) of Clinton; four grandchildren, Jackie Smith (Marshall), Ginny Smith (Matt), Garrett Hall (Olivia), Lacy Gilmore (Jenny); her great granddaughter, Hayden Gilmore; one brother, Robert Paul Clark (Diane) of Rocky Point; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:15pm Sunday prior to the service, and other times at the home of her daughter, Jane Hall.
