Retired Chief Petty Officer James Earlon Todd, 75 went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 14, 2023 at the VA Hospital in Fayetteville.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Stedman, officiating will be Rev. Dennis Pollock. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James McCoy Todd and Iola Kennedy Todd; and sisters, Mildred Johnson and Gloria Byrd.
James retired from the United States Navy, and during his service he served three tours in Vietnam. He also drove a delivery truck for many years with Inland Seafood Company in Charlotte.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Bea Todd; and his sister, Pearl Coats.
in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or to Disabled American Veterans. This is suggested as only a few flowers are allowed at the veterans cemetery.
