 Ret. Chief Petty Officer Bruce Ellis Jackson, 90 went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 9, 2023 at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman with the Reverend Andy Johnson officiating. The burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:50 PM on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman prior to the service.

Bruce was born in Cumberland County to the late, David Clarence Jackson and Rena Porter Jackson.  In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Riley and Joe Jackson; sister, Loretta Lewis; step brother, Purdy Faircloth; and step sister, Margaret Faircloth.

Bruce retired as Chief Petty Officer with the United States Navy with 23 years of service.  He also retired as a Calibration Technician with TMDE Program at Fort Bragg.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Evelyn Naylor Jackson of the home; daughters, Janice Korndoerfer & husband, Kenneth of Apex, and Rena Garcher & husband, William, Jr. of Clayton; and his grandchildren, Ellison and Lillian Garcher.
