Ret. CSM Lynwood "Woody" L. Jackson, Jr. 72 went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 12, 2022.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Mount Carmel Church of God of Prophecy, officiating will be Rev. Bryan Strickland. 

The family will receive friends from 5:30pm to 7:00pm Wednesday at the church before the service.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11:00am Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Wiley Autry Cemetery in Autryville.

Lynwood was born in Lee County, North Carolina to the late Lynwood Jackson and Marion Odell Jackson.  In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Jackson.

Lynwood served 4 years in the United States Marines during his tour in the Vietnam War, and he retired as a CSM with the United States Army with 22 years of service.  He also was the owner and operator of Southern Comfort Heating, Air & Electric Company along with his wife, Sylvia.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 50 years Sylvia Autry Jackson of the home; daughter, Crystal Jackson Snuffer & husband, Thomas of Fayetteville, WV; grandchildren, Katelyn Snuffer & fiance’, Ivan Donovan of Southern Pines, NC, Tiffany, Grant, Zachary, Christopher and Timothy Snuffer all of Fayetteville, WV; one great grandchild on the way; brothers, James Price of Fayetteville and William Jackson & wife, Connie of Hope Mills; and a sister, Sharanne Mead of Wisconsin.
