Mr. Perry Fletcher Butler, 99 went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Mary Gran Nursing Center.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 25, 2022 at Pleasant Union Baptist Church with Reverend Joey Dockery and Reverend Hampton Faircloth officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:50 PM at the church prior to the service.
Mr. Butler was a native of Sampson County, born on November 14, 1922 to John R. and Riley Ann Holland Butler. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Betty Doris Williams Butler; two brothers, Frank Butler and wife, Pat; and Donnie Butler and wife, Ethel Lee; sister, Ruby Drennan and husband, Harrell; and grandson, Frankie Gray.
Mr. Butler was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a farmer his whole life and he was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Gloria Gray of the home; his son, Wayne Butler and wife, Faby of Roseboro; three grandchildren, Eddie Gray and wife, Emily; Corinne Odum and husband, Casey; and John Butler and fiancée, Daysia all of Roseboro; four great-grandchildren, Scarlet Caroline Gray, Franklin Ford Gray, Emma Grace Odum and Cerria Nicole Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
