Mrs. Bevie Williams Starling, 90

In loving memory of Bevie Iris Williams Starling FAYETTEVILLE Mrs. Bevie Iris Williams Starling, 90, of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Bethesda Health Care Facility in Eastover. Mrs. Starling was born on May 18, 1924 in Sampson County to the late Nathan Thomas Williams, Sr and Mittie Autry Williams. Bevie graduated from Clement School and attended Worth Business College in Fayetteville. She was a long time member of Macedonia Baptist Church and pianist for more than 50 years. She was active with WMU and other activities at Macedonia Church. She was a devoted poultry and farmer's wife, bookkeeper and retail furniture business consultant at Johnson Cotton Company and Smithboro Furniture in Fayetteville. Bevie and Tommie loved to travel and learn about different ways other people lived and farmed. They had traveled to 48 states. She enjoyed nurturing flowers in her yard and at church. She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Thomas B. Starling; three brothers, N. T. Williams, Jr., Hershel "Bill" Williams and Sherrill Williams, a half brother, Thomas H. Williams and half sister, Allene Williams Strickland. She is survived by her sister-in-laws, Sadie Williams and Agnes Williams both of Autryville and Shirley Williams of Fayetteville. And numerous "special" nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bevie will truly be missed by all, but she is at peace with her Heavenly Father and the last to join her husband, parents and siblings in heaven. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Friday at Macedonia Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Stephen Lloyd and Rev. James Langford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers , memorials may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, 5064 Macedonia Church Road, Fayetteville, NC 28312, Baptist Chapel Baptist Church, 2208 Baptist Chapel Church Road, Autryville, NC 28318 or a charity of your choice. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, Stedman.The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, December , 2014 at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Lloyd and Rev. Jim Langford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Friday at Macedonia Baptist Church.
