Marion Hall Smith – Born in Lumber Bridge - DOB 09-07-1931
Marion passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2020 with her family by her side.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, September 11, 2020 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Stedman, officiating will be Pastor James Baker. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park, Fayetteville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the funeral home. The family will also receive friends at the home of her daughter, Myra Hilliard in Stedman.
Marion lived in Hope Mills before moving to Stedman six months ago.
Preceded in death by her husband Cecil E. Smith Sr. and parents: Deames Franklin & Bertha Lee Hall
Siblings: Preceded in death by two brothers, Deames Franklin Hall Jr. and Wendell Wilkie Hall, a sister, Loyce Aileen Thompson.
Survived by her children Cecil E. Smith Jr, Cecilia S. Register and Myra S. Hilliard (husband Glenn). Four grandchildren Jamie (Nikki), Justin Smith (Kelsey), Melissa Kulwicki (Joe) and Chasity Poole (Michael). 7 great grandchildren Jaxon, Aubry and Addison Smith, Roley Smith, Tiffany Hyatt, Kinsley & Ainsley Poole, and 1 great great grandchild Hunter Hyatt. A very special niece that was dear to her heart Barbara McDonald (Gene) and many other beloved nieces and nephews.
Marion was a graduate from St. Pauls High School. She was a member of St. Pauls First Baptist Church as a child and later was a member of Charity Baptist. Her family was always very special to her and she loved her family with all her heart.
She worked at Fayetteville Drug Co. for 30 years. Marion was always cherished by her many co-workers and friends she met during her years of working. She was always known as a faithful and dedicated employee working well above the normal eight hour day and was always wanting to help everyone anyway she could.
Marion resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Myra & Glenn these past six months in their home. She also received loving care and the help of her other children Cecilia & Cecil Jr. She had the continued joy of the many visits and memories shared with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, family and friends which we all know made her very happy. Marion was known for her sweet smile she displayed every time anyone came to visit.
The family would like to say a special “thank you” to our many friends and family for your kindness and sympathy during this time. Also a special Thank You for all the staff at 3HC Hospice Care for all the loving and tender care they gave for our Mother.
