Ms. Loretta Linville Burkhardt, 80 went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Golden Years Nursing Home in Falcon.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Oasis Bethany Church of God of Prophecy.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 6:50 PM Wednesday at the church prior to the service.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Life Impact Church ( 5090 S. Main St., Winston Salem, NC  27107).  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery (5676 Old Walkertown Rd., Walkertown, NC  27051.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM Saturday at the church prior to the service.

She was born in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Thomas Jefferson Linville and Rachel Rosa Anna Mae Bowers Linville.  She is also preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Burkhardt; and her siblings, Helen Freeman, Sylvia Moss, Bill Linville, Albert Linville, and two infant sisters.

Loretta served in her local church (originally Kerwin Church of God of Prophecy, and then Life Impact Church) throughout many years of service as Director of Youth Ministry, Women's Ministry, Vacation Bible School, Outreach Ministry, Food Pantry, Sunday School and Small Group Leader.  In addition to her local church ministries she served in Camp Marantha Youth Camps for many years as cabin leader, dean of girls, and camp evangelist.  She ministered 35 years at the Forsyth County Youth Detention facility holding monthly services, and she also ministered in more than 37 different nursing homes over the years including facilitating monthly services at 10 nursing homes for several years.  Along with her husband JB, they conducted Children's Crusades in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia for 27 years.  After coming to the Bethany community she served as Sunday School Teacher to the Senior Sunday School Class at Oasis Bethany Church.  Throughout Loretta's years of ministry, she recorded over 1,000 people coming to Christ.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Dr. Jeffrey Burkhardt & wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Jaron Burkhardt & wife, Jordan, Erin Burkhardt, Zachary Burkhardt & wife, Celina, Zane and Josiah Burkhardt; great grandchildren, Madison, Emily, Chloe, and Jayce Burkhardt and a great granddaughter on the way; sisters, Mildren Stroupe and Clara Chappell; brother, Basil "Ed" Linville; a caregiver that was like her adopted son, Alex Castaneda; special caregivers that are her nieces, Treva Huffstetler and Dawn Pearman; and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.
