Mr. Levie Evander Johnson, 91 went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

Daddy was first a Christian who loved Jesus Christ.  He was a faithful husband of 69 years to Doll, his beloved wife.  He loved his children like our Father intended a man to love a child.  Daddy corrected in love and gave wise counsel when needed.  Daddy was a grandfather that any child would love to have as a "Grandpa".  He had a motto when we were growing up, "If you don't work, you don't eat", he read that somewhere.  His start in life was humble and hard, raising children on a very small income.  He worked in a plywood factory for a few years before starting Johnson's Gas & Grocery in 1966.  In the beginning it was called "The War Hut".  He would often have a side hustle to make money which included; cutting hair, filing saws, welding and yes farming.  He firmly believed that being complacent and not doing work was not good.  While we were growing up we often went to bed tired, not even having the strength to be into mischief at least in most cases.  Daddy had a special wit about him when talking to people that would often put you on guard.  He would often ask "When were you born", then he would say you were named after me.  Of course, he was referring to he was always older.  This was often his way of breaking the ice.  We often heard him on his knees praying for his children, grandchildren, family and friends.

His last days was the beginning of his first days.  We are reminded in John 14:2, In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  Daddy is seeing the promise, now will you follow the example and claim your mansion.  Daddy would like to see you in Heaven.  What a beautiful day that will be.  He would say to you the choice is yours.

Levie is preceded in death by his parents, E.P. Johnson and Daisy Jane Johnson; daughter, Helena Jane Autry; wife of 69 years, Helen Mae Johnson (married for 69 years, separated for 69 days); sisters, Clara Johnson, Martha Johnson, Linda Florence Caulder; and brothers, Columbus and Willie Johnson.
