Mr. Lester Waylon Autry, 90 of Hoover, AL, passed away Friday, October 8, 2021.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 16 at Autryville Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Spell officiating.

He was born in 1930 in Autryville, NC to Emerson Theodore and Janie Patterson Autry. He attended Clement High School and spent his 45 year career in sales in Kraft Heinz Company. He was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church and especially enjoyed the 11 am Men’s Sunday School Class. He was also proud to be a Master Mason with the Bluff Park Masonic Lodge, No. 856.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His favorite activities were enjoying his grandchildren and spending time in NC on the farm growing longleaf pines.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bessie Carolyn Faircloth Autry; son, Steve Autry and wife, Lyn and his grandchildren, Anne Bell (Brayden), Craig Autry (Meredith) and Catherine Autry; and three great- grandchildren.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Shades Mountain Baptist Church “Make Jesus Known” fund, 2017 Columbiana Rd., Birmingham, AL 35216.
