Mr. Johnnie Oslen Hales, 46 of Atkinson passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021 at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 16 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Rev. Kenneth Emanuel, Jr. officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Mr. Hales was a native of Sampson County, the son of the late Johnnie Barton Hales and JoAnn Hunnicutt Hockaday.  He was preceded in death by his father.  He was a salesperson for Home Depot.

He is survived by his wife, Traci Hales of the home; two daughters, Autumn Edwards of Atkinson and Cheyanne Hales of the home; one son, Dakota Hales of the home; his mother and step-father, JoAnn Hockaday and Danny Hockaday of Hampstead; two sisters, Misty Rose of Hampstead and Angela Hales of Sneeds Ferry; his grandmother, Deloris Hunnicutt of Hampstead; two step sisters, Sheila Hockaday of Hubert and P. J. Moore of Newton Grove; one step brother, Dusty Johnson of Dunn.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Butler Funeral Home, P. O. Box 638, Roseboro, NC  28382 to help offset the funeral expenses.
