John "Johnny" Jireh Carter, 62, of Fayetteville, NC joined the Heavenly Choir on Saturday, January 1, 2022.
He was born August 20, 1959. He is the son of the late Rev. Robert P. Carter, Sr. and Eura Dell Alphin Carter.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Autry Carter; daughter, Tiffany Carter Montgomery (Taylor) of Pembroke Pines, FL; brother, Robert P. Carter, Jr. (Joyce) of Chaplin, SC; sisters, Sarah C. Faircloth (Mitchell) of Stedman, and Nora C. Coble (Jerry) of Calabash, NC; and brother, Scotty L. Carter, also of Fayetteville. He was also a proud uncle of 7 nieces and 6 nephews.
Johnny was a front-end technician at M&O Chevrolet Co. and Reed-Lallier Chevrolet fro 46 years. He was a member of the choir and security team at Praise Fellowship Church of God in Fayetteville. He was also, an avid collector of many things. However, he was most recognized as an amazing singer. He sang lead and tenor for the Dixie Travelers of Roseboro, NC for about 15 years. Johnny was greatly loved and appreciated by his many friends.
The family would like to extend appreciation for all of the love, prayers, and support that has been given during this difficult time of bereavement.
A memorial service will be held outside at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at New Life Church of God in Autryville, officiating will be Rev. Larry Autry and Rev. Kevin Edwards.
