Gertrell Pope Hudson, 91 went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Salemburg Baptist Church, officiating will be Rev. Drew Bolin and Rev. Jimmy Suggs.  Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 11:50 AM at the church Tuesday prior to the service.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Evander Pope and Eula Tew Pope; husband, David Earlston Hudson; and her brothers, William Franklin Pope, Douglas Lynn Pope and Tony C. Pope.

She was a longtime member of Salemburg Baptist Church, loved being a home maker, farming and gardening.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Sharon H. Johnson & husband, Elbert, James “Jimmy” Earlston Hudson & wife, Robin, Donna H. Johnson & husband, Donnie, and Angela H. Cashwell & husband, Chris; 7 grandchildren, Callie J. Hawks & husband, Larry, Erin J. Lockamy & husband, Mac, Marybeth Creed & husband, Tucker, Daniel Hudson & wife, Kristin, Dustin Johnson & wife, Kassie, Mason Cashwell and Anna Cashwell; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Delores P. Quinn; special caregiver, Jeanette Cashwell; and sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Pope, Doris Crumpler, and Linda Pope.
