Mr. Edgar “Ed” Jordan, 82 went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
A “Celebration of his life and going home” Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Baptist Chapel Church with Reverend Tre Wiggins, Reverend Allen West, and Reverend J.D. Tew officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:50 PM on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at the church prior to the service.
Mr. Ed was a native of Chowan County, the son of Jesse Nearest and Isa Mae Dail Jordan. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Delsie Smith, and Sarah Harris; and two brothers, Haywood Jordan and James Jordan.
Ed was the owner of Ed Jordan’s Creative Photography and a past President of PPNC (Professional Photographers of NC). Beautiful portraits are displayed in many homes throughout NC and other states, and he is a legend in the photography field. Ed’s endearing personality and sweet smile made everyone who knew him love him. He was a former deacon at Great Marsh Church in St. Pauls and sang in the Great Marsh Quartet for many years. He was a deacon and an active member of Baptist Chapel Church for the past several years. Ed loved his family and singing in the church choir, he loved to play golf and ride his lawnmower working in the yard with his wife. He also loved taking pictures and would always have his camera in hand.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Gloria Jordan; sons, Michael Jordan and wife, Brenda; Scott Jordan and wife, Carma; Todd Jordan, Kevin Jordan, and Anthony Lisboa; his daughter, Vanessa L. Costain and husband, Todd; his sister, Frances Dulings; Twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Memorials may be made to Baptist Chapel Church.
