Mr. Danny James Lucas, 66 went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Mr. Billy Dunham officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 5:50 PM on Friday, February 2, 2024 at the funeral home prior to the service.

Mr. Lucas was a native of Sampson County, the son of Lattie and Eula Mason Larimore Lucas. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Leroy Lucas;

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Erica Lucas of Fayetteville; his significant other of 28 years, Janice Godwin of the home; his grandson, Layne Savarese of Fayetteville; two sisters, Mary Dunham of Fayetteville; and Martha Losaw of Roseboro; his brother, Lee Lucas of Louisiana; special nephew, Joey Lucas of Benson; his fur baby, Patches “Baby Girl”; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Shriners Children Hospital.
