Charlie Owens Obituary
Mr. Charlie Ray Owens, 85 passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at Bethesda Healthcare Facility in Eastover.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, January 5, 2019 at First Baptist Church, 201 Anderson St, Fayetteville, officiating will be Rev. Robert James.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 10:50am Saturday at the church prior to the service.
Graveside service will be held at 12:00pm Monday, January 7, 2019 at Lafayette Memorial Park.
He was born in Hazard, Kentucky to the late William "Bill" Owens and Julia Smith Owens. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Joy B. Owens; son, Mark Bailey Owens and several brothers and sisters.
He retired with over 26 years of service as a teacher for the North Carolina School for the deaf. He was also a sign language interpreter at the First Baptist Church in Fayetteville and in Wilson.
He is survived by his son, David Owens & wife, Dianne of Spring Lake; granddaughter, Heather Owens of Ohio; and great grandchildren.
