ROSEBORO
Mrs. Bessie “Bill” Jean Crumpler Owen Horne, 92 of Roseboro, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the home of her son, Millard Owen.
The funeral service will be held at Roseboro First Baptist Church, 3720 S. Salemburg Highway (Hwy. 242), Roseboro, on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at 2:00pm with Reverend Hampton Faircloth officiating. Burial will follow at Roseboro Cemetery.
Mrs. Horne was born October 17, 1928 in Sampson County and was the daughter of Everette Blackman and Bessie Hudson Crumpler. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, M.T. Owen, Jr.; her second husband, Oscar E. Horne; her brothers, Willie Crumpler, Junie Crumpler, Ray Crumpler; and her sisters, Nora Mellott, Edna Shytle.
She was a member of Roseboro First Baptist Church and was a former Deacon; was a member of the Eastern Star Roseboro Chapter # 229; and she retired from Civil Service.
She is survived by her sons, Millard T. Owen, III and wife, Deborah of Clinton, Keith Owen and wife, Brenda of Roseboro, Rex Owen and wife, Susan of Stedman; her sister, Joyce Wise of Clinton; her grandchildren, Teddy Owen, Wendy Dixon, Melea Hollingsworth, Laura Gray, Brandon Owen, Brianne Williams; her great grandchildren, Scarlett Noel Owen, Jordan Paige Dixon, Walker Gage Dixon, Owen Wallace Gray, Ayden Keith Gray, Olivia Susanne Hollingsworth, Alaina Brooke Hollingsworth, Sawyer Evan Williams, Brinley Michelle Williams; her step-children, Donald Horne, Mary Gordon; her step-grandchildren, Brian Horne, Mark Horne, Jeff Horne, Jennifer Gordon, Stephanie Gordon; and her step-great grandchildren, Luke Horne, Taryn Horne, Megan Horne, Wyatt Horne, Charlie Horne, Kayla Langdon.
The family will receive friends at the Church on Sunday from 1:00-1:50pm, and other times at the home of her grandson, Teddy Owen.
