Ms. Barbara Ann (Jones) Matthews, 94 went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Hope Mills Retirement Center.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Bethabara Methodist Church in Autryville, officiating will be Rev. Ray Burkart.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 2:50 PM at the church on Friday prior to the service.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam Jones and Gladis Simpson Jones; husband, David C. Matthews, Sr.; and her brother, Sam “Pete” Jones.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, David C. Matthews, Jr. & wife, Cindy of Hope Mills, and David Michael Matthews of Autryville; 8 grandchildren, Angela Matthews, Brook Matthews, Gina Honeycutt, Mark Miller (Gaiya), April Domingez (Frankie), Krystle Skinner (Jason), Cameron Matthews, and Shelby Matthews; 5 great grandchildren, Kyle Honeycutt, Gavin Matthews, Oaklin Zebraski, Remedy Matthews, and Kallie Skinner.
