Mrs. Zelma Rosetta Byrd Delancey

Salemburg Mrs. Zelma Rosetta Byrd DeLancey, 91, 208 South Main Street, passed away Friday, June 13, 2008 at Sampson Regional Medical Center. A funeral will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at 3:00 pm at Salemburg Baptist Church with the Rev. John Adams, Rev. Andy Wood and Rev. Roger White officiating. Burial will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Mrs. DeLancey was a native of Caswell County and the daughter of the late William Empson "Buck" and Isabella McKinney Byrd. She was preceded in death by her husband Zeb Vance DeLancey. She was a homemaker. Mrs. DeLancey was a member of the Salemburg Extension Homemakers Club for many years. Mrs. DeLancey is survived by: two daughters, Barbara Tew and husband Tommy, of Clinton and Brenda Bass and husband Keith, of Salemburg; five grandchildren, Bryan Keith Bass, Kevin Vance Bass, Chris Bass and wife Jackie, Jackie Blanchard and wife Crystal and Brittany Fann and husband Robert; five great grandchildren, Courtney Bass, Caitlyn Bass, Aaron Blanchard, Jacob Blanchard and Elizabeth Blanchard. The family will receive friends on Saturday night from 6:30 till 8:30 pm at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro or at other times at the home.
