Mrs. Zelda Mae Owens Tanner, 83 of 1581 Autry Highway, Roseboro, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at her home.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31 at 2:00 PM at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with the Rev. Paul Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in the Haney Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Tanner was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of the late Edgar Romney and Ennis Lucas Owens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Tanner. She was a sales clerk at Maxway for many years.

She is survived by three daughters, Vivian Haney of Roseboro, Dian Autry of Roseboro and Silvia Steinmiller of Beaver, PA; one son, Robert Tanner of Autryville; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; and her pet dog, Trixia.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday evening at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and at other times at the home of her daughter, Vivian Haney.
