Mr. Willis Edward Rice, 80

FAYETTEVILLE

Mr. Willis Edward Rice, 80 of 557 Alleghany Road, Fayetteville, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

He was born July 9, 1936 in Bladen County and is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur D. and Eva Cain Rice; and brother, Don Rice. He retired after 30 years from Flowers Bakery as a Bread Delivery Driver.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Norris Rice of the home; sons, Willis Edward Rice, Jr. of Fayetteville, Mark Alden Rice of Aberdeen, and Wilburn Geoffery Rice of Fayetteville; daughter, Denna Rice Johnson of Erwin; sisters, Helen D. Rice of Albany, Georgia, and Betty R. Guy of Stedman; four grandchildren, Maranda Rice, Ridge Rice, Callie Johnson, and Ella Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, December 15, at Live Oak United Methodist Church with Reverend Joyce Carter, Reverend Brock Meyer, and Reverend Karen Davis officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall. The road is blocked for part of highway 53, please follow the detour signs to get to the church.
