Mrs. Willie Lee Draughon Warren, 87, of Raleigh, formerly of Roseboro, NC, passed away peacefully Friday, March 28, 2008 surrounded by her family.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, March 30, 2008 at 3 PM at Beulah United Methodist Church, Corinth Church Road, Roseboro with the Rev. Bobby Herring and Rev. Andy Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 1:30 till 3:00 PM.
Willie Lee was the last survivor of 10 children born to the late Grover C. Draughon and Verna M. Jernigan Draughon of Falcon, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 ½ years, William Arthur Warren, Sr.
Willie Lee spent her earlier days rearing her family and was active in her church and community as long as she was able. Her family remained the joy of her life and she was happiest when surrounded by them. She prided herself on instilling the love of God in her children as he was her source of strength.
Mrs. Warren is survived by: daughter, Joy W. Owen and husband Jerry, of Raleigh; son, Rev. W. Arthur Warren, Jr. and wife Becky, of Murfreesboro, NC; four granddaughters, Miriam O. Migdal and husband Ryan, of Raleigh, Maria W. Setzer and husband Trevor, of Myrtle Beach, SC, Martha W. Smith and husband Ashley, of Winterville, NC and Noelle Warren, of Greenville, NC; three great-granddaughters, Mattingly, Gracie and Zoe Migdal, of Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to Beulah United Methodist Church, c/o Joan Holland, 515 Herbie Road, Roseboro, NC 28382.
