FAYETTEVILLE
Rev. William Lewis Rowland, 83 of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013 at his home with his family by his side.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Timothy Dean and Rev. Tim Gore officiating. Burial will follow at the Adcox Cemetery in Hope Mills with military honors.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, B.C. Rowland and Lester Rowland; foster mother, Katherine Rowland; and his wife, Martha Wheeler Rowland. He was an army veteran of WWII and an evangelist with the Church of God.
He is survived by: one son, Douglas Rowland and wife Patricia; one daughter, Denise McKinley and husband Tom; five grandchildren, Stephen McKinley and wife Michelle, Michael McKinley, Michelle McKinley and husband Mike, and Robby Brandel; and four great grandchildren.
Rev. Rowland also left behind to grieve, Becky Miller Johnson, Scotty Miller and Kim Miller Hathcock; and life-long friend, Rev. Delton Deese and family.
The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.
