William "Bill" Howard Sessoms

Mr. William "Bill" Howard Sessoms, 77, of Salemburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at WakeMed in Raleigh.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Halls Methodist Church with Pastor Jennifer Wise officiating. Burial will follow at the Williams Spell Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 1:50 PM on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Halls Methodist Church prior to the service.

Colonel Sessoms served in the U.S. Air Force for 27 years. He was a Bronze Star Medal recipient and received numerous other accommodations, including two tours of the Pentagon and was a graduate of the Army War College. He served in the first Gulf War. He was a loving husband, father, and a faithful member of Halls Methodist Church for many years. He also was an avid golfer, history buff, and a proud Tar Heel.

Colonel Sessoms was the son of James Calton Sessoms and Elizabeth Williams Sessoms. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Kara Sessoms.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Deborah McGinnis Sessoms; and a son, William Howard Sessoms, Jr. (Lara Wehrle).

The family would like to thank Vicki Stegall, caregiver and trusted friend.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Halls Methodist Church.
