AUTRYVILLE
Mr. William Alex Bullard, Sr., 84 of 6557 Maxwell Road, died on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at his home.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010 at Clement Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. with Dr. James Dees officiating. Burial will follow in the Maxwell Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Bullard was born on May 10, 1926 in Sampson County to the late Alex R. and Betsey Matthews Bullard. He was a member of Clement Baptist Church and a Veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as an Insurance Representative with Western-Southern Life Insurance Company for 34 years. William will be remembered by many for the role he played in helping to bring "Charlie Two-Shoes" and his family to the United States.
Mr. Bullard is survived by: his wife, Lorraine M. Bullard of the home; one daughter, Susan Williams and husband, Michael of Fayetteville; one son, W.A. Bullard, Jr. and wife, Sylvia of Autryville; five grandchildren, Blake Bullard and wife, Christy, Patrick Bullard, Dana Hall and husband, Chris, Terri Williams and Alex Williams; and one great granddaughter, Grace Bullard.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 P.M. at Clement Baptist Church, and other times at the home.
