Mr. William Paul Autry, 77

Mr. William Paul Autry, 77 of 722 Hitching Post Road, Roseboro, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at his home.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, August 29, at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, with military honors.

Born on December 21, 1938 in Sampson County, he was the son of the late Claude and Adeline Johnson Autry. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Ramsey Autry; second wife, Bell Sessoms Autry; and brothers, Dan Autry and Wesley Autry.

He served ten years in the Marine Corp as a Staff Sergeant and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He then retired after twenty seven years of service from the North Carolina National Guard.

He is survived by his son, William David Autry; grandson, William Hunter Autry; brothers, Larry Autry, Jimmy Autry, Jerry Autry, and Bobby Autry; sisters, Earlene Hales, and Alice Martin; step-children, Ann Strickland, and Jennie House; step-grandchildren, Madison Strickland, Cody Whitley, Savanna Strickland, Amanda House, and Brook House; and step-great grandchildren, Logan Faircloth, and Leavy Faircloth.

The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home.
