William "Buck" Charles Ammons, Sr.

Mr. William “Buck” Charles Ammons, Sr., 73 of Roseboro, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at UNC Rex Hospital surrounded by his family.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Carr’s Chapel Free Will Holiness Church with the Reverend Billy Bass officiating. The burial will follow at Roseboro Cemetery with Firemen’s Honors.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.

Buck was a retired member of the Roseboro Fire Department.

Buck was a native of Sampson County, the son of William Otis and Evelyn Jackson Ammons. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Anthony Wayne Ammons; and father-in-law, Gary Strickland.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Drenda S. Ammons of the home; three daughters, Tara Lynn Ammons of Roseboro; Nicole Ammons Beaulieu and husband, Bruce of Dunn; and Jessica Barrier and husband, Jared of Clinton; three sons, William “Billy” C. Ammons, Jr. and wife, Tiffany of Clinton; Tony Ammons and wife, Tiffani of Roseboro; and William Gary Ammons and wife, Kyri of Roseboro; fifteen grandchildren; his uncle, Bobby Jackson; and mother-in-law, Linda Strickland.
