Weslyn (Wes) Rae Chavis, 39, of Eastover, died peacefully on Sunday, July 3rd, 2016 in her home. Born November 4th, 1976 in Charleston, SC, Wes is survived by her daughter Shelby Renee Horne and son John Alton Wesley Horne both of Fayetteville. She is also survived by her grandmother Anna Bell (Bob) Singleton of Eastover, her father Eric Ray (Tutty) Chavis of Eastover, her mother Ann Gerringer Sharpe of Trinity, her sister Saundra Lynn Holland of Red Springs and her brother Joseph Michael Callis of Hope Mills as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. She had an especially close relationship with her aunts Anna Maria (Maria) Singleton of Fayetteville and Lisa Harrison of Saltillo, MS. Wes was a published author and photographer. She had a blog entitled Confessions of an Oreo Addict. Wes was a 1995 graduate of Cape Fear High School and had also attended school in Stafford, Va. Wes, mother, daughter, sister, author and friend, was a lover of Oreo cookies, Cherry Pepsi, reading, and Halloween. Wes was known for her sarcastic wit and sense of humor. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 9 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Chavis officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 11:00 pm.
