Mrs. Wanda Melvin Watkins, 82

Mrs. Wanda Melvin Watkins, 82 was born September 12, 1934 and passed away at her home on Sunday, September 10, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Windsor United Methodist Church, 12863 NC 242, Elizabethtown, officiating will be Rev. Neil Smith and Rev. Brock Meyer. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville.

The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:00pm Wednesday at the church prior to the service.

She is preceded in death by loving husband of sixty years, James E. Watkins, Sr. and son, James E. Watkins, Jr.

Mrs. Watkins is also preceded by her parents, GF Melvin and Lenora Tatum Melvin of Bladen County; two brothers, Sam Melvin and Wayne Melvin; two sisters, Ester Melvin Smith, and Beatrice Melvin Beard.

She is survived by her grandson, the love of her heart, James Wayne "Jamie" Watkins of Clement; sister, Naomi Melvin Bullington of Fayetteville.

She was lovingly know as "Aunt Wanda", she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, representing the Melvin, Smith, Beard and Bullington families.

She retired from BB&T Bank and was well know and respected by many friends.
