Mrs. Wanda “Tensie” Faye Williams, 86, of Roseboro, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Calvary Tabernacle PFWB Church with Reverend Wayne Johnson and Reverend Reece Fairfax officiating. The burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:50 PM on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at the church prior to the service. Other times, the family will receive friends at the Williams family home.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Lofton and Elouise Strickland McLamb; one daughter, Brenda Denise Wood; three brothers, James Lofton McLamb, Jr., William Nathan McLamb, and Fonnie Ray McLamb.

Wanda was born and raised in Sampson County and was a dedicated housewife/homemaker. She graduated from Salemburg High School in 1956, and one year later, married her high school sweetheart, Roy Vance Williams. They began their married life together as a military couple, and grew their family for the next 16 years across the U.S. and Iceland. They settled back home in the summer of 1977 where Wanda continued to enjoy cooking, gardening, traveling, family gatherings, bowling, and ministering to others through service. She loved The Master’s Quartet, and she was very active in the church choir and ladies’ auxiliary. For many years, she served as the church treasurer.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Roy; a son, Michael D. Williams (Rose); two daughters, Lynette Honeycutt (Stevie), Beverly Johnson (Billy); two sisters, Shirley Cooper, Linda Baggett (Larry); a brother, Thomas McLamb; a son-in-law, Derek Wood; seven grandchildren, Cori Boes (Chris), Kelly Spell, Carly Williams, Casie Williams, Bailey Clark (Dane), Evan Johnson, and Ethan Johnson; and three great grandchildren, Grey Darion, Audrey Boes, and Charlie Rose Lawson.

The family would like to thank Cape Fear Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the loving care they showed them.
