Mr. Walter Ray Strickland, 67, of Roseboro, went to be with Lord at his home.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Reverend Andy Wood officiating. The burial will follow at the Strickland Spell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:50 PM on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro prior to the service.

Walter was a native of Sampson County, the son of Ray Wilson Strickland and Carolyn Marie Spell Strickland. He was preceded in death by his parents. He had a love for pool, golf, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by two daughters, Tamara McLamb and husband Jamie, and Kristin Strickland and husband Justin; a son, Justin Strickland and wife Arely; seven grandchildren, Natalie Maynor, Kaden Mercer, Ethan McLamb, Emily Kelly, Aaliyh Strickland, Nolan Strickland, and Liam Strickland; a sister, April Strickland; three brothers, Larry Strickland, Earl Strickland, and Glenn Strickland; and many nieces and nephews.
