Wade Neville Nunnery, 91 went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 9, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Stedman Baptist Church, officiating will be Dr. James Atkinson and Rev. Robert Phipps.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the church on Thursday prior to the service.

Wade is preceded in death by his parents, Eulie F. Nunnery and Alice Bullock Nunnery; and his siblings, Willie F. (Buster) Nunnery, Delsie Nunnery Maxwell, and Florence Nunnery Day.

Wade was an Air Force Veteran and retired as Assistant Fiscal Officer at the V.A. Medical Center in Fayetteville after 40 years.  He grew up in Concord Baptist Church and was a member of Stedman Baptist Church where he served the Lord many years as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.  He also enjoyed giving praise to the Lord by lending his bass voice in the church choirs.  Wade loved the Lord and was an active Gideon.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over 66 years, Mary "Susie" Nunnery of the home; children, Karen Nunnery Pless & husband, Todd of Davidson, NC, Lisa Nunnery Phillips of Autryville, and David W. Nunnery & wife, Amy of Oakland, CA; grandchildren, Brooke Briza of Autryville, Delia Freeman & husband, Justin of Autryville, Matthew Pless & wife, Lauren of Charlotte, Thomas Pless of Concord, Daniel Pless of Chapel Hill, and Max Nunnery of Oakland, CA; and great grandchildren, Kaden Briza, David Soles, Avery Soles, McKenna Soles and Wade Freeman.
