FAYETTEVILLE Mrs. Virginia Coble Gillingham, 81 of Fayetteville passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at her daughter's home in Stafford Virginia. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Culbreth Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wanda Barrier officiating. Entombment will follow in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Gillingham was a native of Bladen County, the daughter of the late Charles V. Coble and Flora Belle Melvin Coble. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gifford D. Gillingham and three sisters, Doris Melvin, Hulda Rice and Grace Caton. She was a retired civil service employee with the U. S. Army. She is survived by two sons, Lee Gillingham of Palatine, Illinois and Brian Gillingham and wife, Corinna of Mineola, Texas; a daughter, Gail Gillingham Rivera and husband, Thomas of Stafford, Virginia; a sister, Joyce Cain of Hope Mills; one granddaughter, Tiffany Warnock; one great grandson, Gage and several step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday evening at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, NC.
