Virginia Lou (Currie) Simpson

Virginia Currie Simpson, 76, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Ginny, as she was best known, was an honorable mother and wife to her family and had the distinction of being a homemaker to the ones she loved. Ginny was a faithful member of Eureka Baptist Church, where she will be greatly missed. Ginny loved serving the Lord in many areas of the church ministries.

Ginny has left her earthly residence and now resides in her eternal mansion with Jesus. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” - 2 Corinthians 5:8

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 19 at 1:00 PM at Eureka Baptist Church, 1591 Eureka Ave, Fayetteville NC 28311, with Reverend Will Aleshire officiating. Burial will follow at the Simpson Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Eureka Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Mittie Mae Currie; Siblings, Cathy Bourget, Betty Hill, Bill Currie, Larry Currie, Harold Currie, and Carol Trudeau.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Anthony (Jay) Simpson; children, Angela and Matt Young of Roseboro; Jimmy Simpson of Fayetteville; Mike Simpson of Jacksonville, Florida; Jennifer and Turk Huckins of Fayetteville; brother, Wayne Currie of Linden; 11 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
