STEDMAN
Mr. Vernon Cloys Tew, 84, of Stedman died Tuesday, November 25 at N.C. Veterans Nursing Home in Fayetteville. He was a retired mechanic for Purolator. He was born in Sampson County, the son of the late Halery A. Tew and Eula McLamb Tew. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War veteran. He was predeceased by his wife, Martha Ann Tew.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 29 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Stedman with Pastors Bill and Sue Tatum officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville.
He is survived by three sons, Terry Tew, Mike Tew and Gary Tew, all of Stedman; one daughter, Rhonda Godwin of Autryville; two brothers, H.A. Tew of Fayetteville and Robert Tew of Spivey's Corner; two sisters, Adeen Jordan and Lelamer Peterson, both of Fayetteville; six grandchildren, Damien Myer, Shawn Tew, Tyler Tew, Hunter Godwin, Megan Waldschmidt and Shelby Tew; two great grandchildren, Deshawn Myer and Alexis Myer; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, November 28 at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.
