Mr. Sessoms was a native of Sampson County, the son of Robert Lee and Willa Dean Simmons Sessoms. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Angela Faith Royal.

He leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Roy F. Sessoms; five nieces, Vanessa S. Royal, Diona Rich, Nova Carr, Nevaeh Carr and Nadia Carr; and two nephews, Linwood Rich and Cameron Kemp.
