EDENTON, NC
Mr. Thomas Woodrow White, 58 of Edenton, died on Friday, June 22, 2007 at his home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 30, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman, with the Rev. Randall Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in the McAlphin-Autry Cemetery.
Mr. White was born in Stedman, N.C. on August 20, 1948 to Memory White and Kate Preslar White. Tommy was raised on the Peninsula and was a graduate of Newport News High School. Tommy was a Vietnam veteran, member of the Moose Lodge, Sons of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and a Master Elecrician working out of the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1340 in Newport News, Va. Tommy was affectionately known by his grandchildren as "Grandpa Tommy".
Mr. White is survived by: his wife of 27 years, Jennie White; one son, Tommy Lee White; three brothers, Arizona White and wife Marjorie, Gene White and wife Jennie, and David White; three step-daughters, Katherine White, Lynn and husband Mike, and Michelle and husband Kevin; and three grandchildren, Keith, Zachery and Emily.
Family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, Stedman.
