Mr. Thomas Edison Gardner, 72

Roseboro Mr. Thomas Edison Gardner, 72 of 927 Butler Island Road passed away on Friday, August 27, 2010 at the Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, August 30 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church with Dr. Lynn Bullock and Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Gardner was a native of Cumberland County, the son of the late Edison Rollins and Annie Eva Hair Gardner. He was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Gardner. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Gardner of the home; two sons, Thomas Edison Gardner, Jr. and wife, Betty of Raleigh and Gregory Stephen Gardner and wife, Denice of Bay Tree Lakes; three sisters, Edna Melvin and Betty Sue Smith both of Roseboro and Joyce Shirley of Autryville; two grandchildren, Natalie Kate Gardner and Brian Stephen Gardner.
