Mrs. Thelma Evelyn Benton, 80

ROSEBORO

Mrs. Thelma Evelyn Benton, born October 11, 1937 to her parents, George and Naomi Carter, entered Heaven's gates on April 11, 2018 to receive her robe and crown.

Evelyn was a loving wife to her husband, Marvin Benton, who preceded her in death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Wayne; one brother, Billy; and three sisters, Shirley, Doris and Ola Mae.

Evelyn is survived by one daughter, Vickie Dabbs (Bobby); one granddaughter, Ginger Melvin (Chad); four great grandchildren, Trinity, David, Daniel and Jordan, all whom she loved dearly; two sisters, Marie Lucas and Francis Williams; three brothers, George Jr., Leroy and Wilbert Carter.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45pm Saturday, April 14, at Carr's Chapel Free Will Holiness Church, 1641 McDaniels Road, Roseboro. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Billy Bass officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
