Mr. Taft Edward Groves, 74

FAYETTEVILLE Bro Taft Edward Groves was born December 27, 1936 and went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center surrounded by his family. The visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Monday, November 14 at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman. The funeral will be at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, November 15 at Galilee Holiness Church , Sapona Rd., Fayetteville with Rev. Jerry Groves and Rev. Chambers kerns officiating. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Charlie Franklin & Mrs. Ethel Lee Groves; one brother, Franklin L. Groves; and one son, Jimmy Earl Locklear. He retired from Purolator Incorporated. He is survived by his wife, Sis Janetter Groves and granddaughter, Felicia Jacobs of the home; daughter, JoAnn (Kenneth) Caputo of Cameron, NC; one son, Jimmy Groves of Lillington, NC; one step son, Rev. Kenneth (Connie) Locklear of St. Pauls, NC; two brothers, Richard (Neal) Groves and Rev. Jerry (Linder) Groves of Fayetteville, NC; five sisters, Doris (Jorge) Bronies, Ruth (Steve) Shorter, Viola (Ronnie) Locklear of Fayetteville, NC, Evelyn (Joe) Kamaka of Hope Mills, NC and Ann (Rev Jerry) Thompson of Raeford, NC; fourteen grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Mr. Groves was a memeber of Galilee Holiness Church where he played the piano for the choir for over twenty years. He was a very loving, caring and devoted husband and father to his wife and family. Truly, he will be extremely missed by everyone.
