Mrs. Sylvia Kaye (Simmons) Austin, 71 of Roseboro, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 7, 2025 at UNC Rex Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Mintz Baptist Church. Lunch will be served in the fellowship hall after the service.

Mrs. Austin was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of Junius Eliot and Eunice Paulene Nance Simmons. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Corbin Eliot Simmons, Donald Earl Simmons and Junius Ray Simmons; three sisters, Lily (Judy) Bradshaw, Rose Simmons Bryant and Alma Joyce Simmons Fields.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Robert Joseph Austin of the home; four children, Angela Benge, Micheal Shanon Adams, James Robert Austin and John Paul Austin; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother, James Robert Simmons; and two sisters, Mary Ann Simmons Fann and Rebeca Fay Ezzell.
