Ms. Sue Ellen (Horne) West,  went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 21, 2021 with her family by her side.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Stedman, officiating will be Rev. Bill Barnes &

Rev. Andy Wood.  Burial will follow at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Autryville.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.

She was born in Cumberland County to the late Charles Alton Horne and Inez Davis Horne.  She grew up in Stedman and graduated from Stedman High School.  She also lived in Phoenix and Atlanta, Georgia, then moved back to Stedman and worked at Horne's Furniture Store a family business.  She worked for the FBI in Washington DC doing fingerprinting.  She later moved to Greensboro while she worked as an Allstate Insurance Agent for 20 years.  She then went to Stan Byrd Realty in Archdale where she worked as a realtor and lived; and was a member of Sophia Baptist Church. She retired then went to North Myrtle Beach and worked as a realtor for Elliott Realty, where she also retired.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son, Richard "Ricky" West, Jr.; sisters, Helen Horne Hunter, and Joann Horne McAlphin; brothers, Tommy Alton Horne and Latha Francis Horne; sister-in-law, Margaret Jackson Horne; and a brother-in-law, Robert McAlphin.

She is survived by her life partner of 40 years, Roger Blackwell; children, Pamela West Price of Georgetown, SC, Rodney West of Henderson, NC, and Robert West & wife, Betty of Archdale; brother, Billy Davis Horne & wife Faye of Stedman; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Tammy West.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sophia Baptist Church, P. O. Box 27, Sophia, NC  27350 or to Stedman Baptist Church, 7750 Clinton Road, Stedman, NC  28391.
