Mr. Steve Douglas "Pete" Welker, age 66 of 4043 Lovick Road, Wade, NC died on June 5, 2012 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, NC. He was born December 23, 1945 in Guilford County the son of Claude Welker and Rosa Crenshaw Welker. He was a builder in the home construction business. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, T. D. Welker and Charles Bryant Welker Mr. Welker is survived by his wife, Brenda of the home; sons, Glen Welker of Autryville and James Welker of Fayetteville; daughter, Michelle Faircloth of Spring Lake; siblings, Mary Cox and Judy Reynolds of Whittsit; Barbara Barton of Kernersvlle; Bill Welker of McClainsville; Jerry Welker of Liberty; John Welker of Townsville; Jack Welker of Mapleton, GA; Margaret Sheppard of Florida; Charles "Ike" Welker of Greensboro; Betty Kinebel of Waxsaw; Susie Myers of Gibsonville; Jim Welker of Wade; Richard Welker of Linden and Angie Reeves of Yanceyville. Also surviving are eight grandchildren. The family will receive friends and relatives at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman on Friday, June 8, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
