Mrs. Stella Mary Spell, 84

FAYETTEVILLE Mrs. Stella Mary Spell, 84 of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 23, 2015. She was born on December 6, 1930 in Bladenboro, NC, to Henry and Ruby Hughes McLean. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a dedicated member of Jesus First Church in Fayetteville, NC. She was the owner of Stella’s Drapery in Fayetteville, NC, for 40 years. Stella was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dallas Howard Spell; her parents; three brothers, Henry, Robert and Barton McLean; and one sister, Myrtle Baxley. She is survived by four daughters, Elizabeth Clark of Columbia, SC, Betty Jo Kimball of Springfield, MO, Peggy Kelly of Fayetteville, Brenda Williams of St. Pauls; one son, Howard Spell of Erwin; four sisters, Esther Hood of Abbottsburg, Vivian West of Bladenboro, Marie Yarborough of Bladenboro, Norma Outlaw of Abbottsburg; four brothers, Mitchell McLean, Wilton McLean, Horace McLean, Eugene McLean all of Bladenboro; 12 grandchildren, Jason Gillespie, Chris Feltwell, Joseph Feltwell, Brandy Groth, Dallas Moore, Hunter Spell, Brooke Spell, Mark Aloway, Patricia Kimball, Camille Davis, Wesley Clark, Chris Clark; and 14 great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held 2:00 pm Monday, September 28 at Butler Funeral Home, Roseboro, with Pastor Gary Leviner, Sr. and Pastor Gary Leviner, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Roseboro Cemetery. Services by Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro.
