Mrs. Sophia L. Benson, 80

Mrs. Sophia Louise Lee Benson Roseboro- Mrs. Sophia Louise Benson, 80, of 412 Oak St. died Wednesday, May 16, 2007 in Sampson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 19, 2007 at the Roseboro Church of God at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Eddie Smith, Rev. Dan Gore and Rev. Wesley Britt officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Benson, is a native of Wayne County, and is the daughter of the late Lonnie and Calonia Lee. She is preceded in death by her husband Albert Mitchell Benson and her brother, Lonnie Rudolph Lee. Mrs. Benson worked as a seamstress for many years. She is survived by two daughters, Iris Rose Edwards of Clinton and Sylvia Pearsall of Roseboro; three sons, Worth E. Stephens, Albert Stephens and David Stephens, all of Roseboro; a stepdaughter, Edith Mae Kivett of Fayetteville; sisters Eula Mae Sessoms of Roseboro and Ruby Matthews of Raeford; 20 Grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 14 great- great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 until 9 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro. Services are entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro.
