Mr. Sidney L. Ray, 73

AUTRYVILLE Mr. Sidney Lee Ray, 73, of 176 Ray Lane, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 at Betsy Johnson Regional Medical Center in Dunn. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009 at 11:00 am at Butler Funeral Home with the Rev. Casey Welker officiating. Burial will follow in the Ray Cemetery. Mr. Ray was an Army Veteran and an automobile mechanic. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo Ray and two brothers, James Ray and G.H. Ray. Mr. Ray is survived by: sons, Horace Reaves, of Fayetteville, Ricky Ray, of Roseboro and William Ray, of Autryville; four daughters, Marline Hicks and Rosemary Simmons, both of Autryville, Earline Hall, of Rocky Mount and Kathryn Fisher, of Roseboro; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday night from 7-9 pm at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.
