Mrs. Shirley M. Bivens, 61

ROSEBORO Mrs. Shirley Ann Matthews Bivens, 61 of 2406 Hayne Stretch Road, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at The Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center in Fayetteville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Butler Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Hilburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Lockamy Family Cemetery. Mrs. Bivens was born in 1946 in Bladen County to the late Thomas Allen and Katie Earl Melvin Matthews. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Bivens is survived by: one daughter, Ginger Sessoms of Spring Lake; one son, William Allen Bivens of Autryville; two sisters, Gloria Hall of Roxboro, and Mavis Tanner of Autryville; one brother, Roy Matthews of Autryville; and four grandchildren, Katie Sessoms, Joshua Sessoms, Zachary Bivens, and Spencer Bivens. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 until 9 PM at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, and other times at the home.
